Rank 1, TCCU Cooperative Innovation Contest
The PSHS-EVC Consumers Cooperative proudly emerged as Rank 1 in the TCCU Cooperative Innovation Contest, earning a ₱20,000.00 cash prize for its video entry.
The recognition celebrates the Cooperative’s commitment to innovation, creativity, and excellent service to its members and community. This achievement was made possible through the dedication and teamwork of everyone involved, with special thanks to Sir Jordan Madjus of CDA-8 for his valuable assistance in developing the video.
The Cooperative also thanks the Tacloban City Cooperatives Union (TCCU) for providing a platform that celebrates and promotes cooperative innovation.
Another milestone in building dreams and sharing success!
In 2024, the PSHS-EVC Consumers Cooperative became a recipient of the ₱400,000 CMPL Grant, an opportunity that the Cooperative transformed into meaningful investments in innovation and service improvement.
A significant portion of the grant was used to upgrade the Cooperative’s Point-of-Sale (POS) system, paving the way for more efficient transactions and the introduction of cashless payment through the CoopCard. This modernization made canteen transactions faster, more convenient, and responsive to the changing needs of the PSHS-EVC community.
The grant also provided the Cooperative with the opportunity to launch small-scale catering services, expanding its income-generating activities while providing quality food and catering support for meetings, seminars, conferences, and other school and community events.
The ₱400,000 grant became more than financial assistance—it became a catalyst for innovation, diversification, and growth, demonstrating how cooperative resources can be transformed into better services and greater opportunities for members and the community.
From a grant to innovation. From innovation to service. From service to shared success.
The PSHS-EVC Consumers Cooperative took another step toward modernizing its services through the upgrading of its Point-of-Sale (POS) system and the introduction of the CoopCard, making transactions at the cooperative’s canteen more convenient, efficient, and cashless for the PSHS-EVC community.
The innovation not only streamlined sales and payment processes but also demonstrated how technology can be used to make cooperative services more responsive to the changing needs of members.
The initiative gained recognition when the CDA Region VIII Extension Office featured the Cooperative’s POS and CoopCard innovation during its 2025 International Day of Cooperatives celebration, highlighting it as an example of how cooperatives can embrace technology and innovation in delivering better services. The CDA has emphasized the importance of sharing cooperative success stories and best practices as a way of encouraging innovation across the sector.
For PSHS-EVC Consumers Cooperative, the recognition affirms a simple principle: innovation is meaningful when it makes service better, easier, and more accessible for the community.
Innovation in service. Convenience in every transaction.
